The festival has a long history of inspiring and encouraging our youngsters to learn about acoustic music through the highly-regarded kids workshops. Based on the successes and following the tenets of the Chick Rose School of Bluegrass out of Portland, Oregon, Chick's kids has a long legacy at the Wheeler County Bluegrass Festival.
“Chick’s Kids,” is a music education program dedicated to sharing the fun of bluegrass with youth. The Chick Rose School of Bluegrass offers jams, camps and workshops designed to engage kids in a friendly, fun and supportive environment. Participants generally range in age from 8 to 18. If you have kids who might enjoy playing music with friends and learning the art of bluegrass, we'd love to hear from you.

ABOUT CHICK ROSE
Chick loved how bluegrass brought people and music together, and Chick loved kids. He spent years perfecting a system that brought youth and bluegrass together. Chick summed it up-- "Preach fundamental, but teach fun!" His system worked beautifully and kids have learned to love and excel in the field of bluegrass. Just google "The Bluegrass Regulators" or Dan Crary's Thunderation and you will see some amazing musicians who are Chick's kids and our instructors.
